Terms of Service

Last updated: November 2, 2026

These terms govern your use of qui (the "Service"), a note-taking app with AI writing suggestions, provided by Marco Marchesi ("we", "us"). By using the Service you are contracting with Marco Marchesi, and by continuing to use it you agree to these terms.

Your account

You must be of legal age to form a binding contract, or have authority to bind the organisation you use qui for. Keep your sign-in credentials secure; you are responsible for activity under your account. Provide accurate information and keep it up to date.

The Service and licence

qui lets you write and store notes and receive AI-generated suggestions to improve grammar and phrasing. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the Service within your selected plan, including its monthly suggestion limit. We retain all rights in the Service and its software, documentation and branding.

Acceptable use

You must not misuse the Service, including:

  • using it for anything unlawful, fraudulent or for spam;
  • infringing anyone's intellectual property or other rights;
  • interfering with security, distributing malware, probing, scraping or overloading the Service;
  • reverse engineering, reselling, or circumventing usage limits or technical restrictions;
  • attempting to jailbreak or manipulate the AI to produce illegal content, hate speech, harassment, deepfakes or malware.

Your content and AI output

You keep ownership of your notes. You grant us a limited licence to host and process them solely to provide the Service, including sending paragraphs to our AI provider to generate suggestions. You are responsible for what you write, for having the rights to it, and for how you use suggestions. Rights in suggestions you apply belong to you to the extent permitted by law.

AI suggestions may be inaccurate or change your meaning. Review them before use; they are not suitable for regulated professional advice without human oversight. We may filter or refuse outputs and remove or restrict content that breaks these terms. Rights-holders can report infringing content to us; repeated infringement leads to account termination.

Cost of the Service

qui is currently free to use, and we don't collect payment or card details. If we introduce paid plans later, we will say so here and on the pricing page before any charge applies, and the terms in force at that time will govern those purchases.

Service level and warranties

We do not guarantee the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free. To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Service is provided "as is" and we disclaim implied warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose.

Liability

Our total liability is limited to any fees you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses such as lost profits, data or goodwill. Nothing limits liability for fraud, death or personal injury where the law does not allow it. You will indemnify us against claims arising from your content, unlawful use or breach of these terms.

Suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate access for material breach, security or fraud risk, or repeated or serious violations. You may stop using qui at any time. When your account ends, you can export your notes on request for 30 days, after which they are deleted.

General

These terms are governed by the laws of the seller's country of residence, whose courts have jurisdiction. You may not assign these terms without our consent; we may assign them in a merger or sale. Neither party is liable for delays caused by events beyond reasonable control. We may update these terms and will note the date above.
